Caucasian Rugs

We have an extensive collection of antique Caucasian rugs. They are woven in the mountainous region of the Caucasus which is between the Black Sea and the Caspian and is now Russia. There is no organized manufacture as in Persia and Turkey, it is purely a cottage and nomadic industry. These rugs are always small with bold geometric patterns; they have an artistic balance of color and are closely cropped to give wonderful clarity of design. The Caucasian rugs are highly regarded and some of the most collectible of all antique rugs.
